It's been a bit quiet over here...

I have been quiet lately, and I am very sorry!
Not a whole lot going on over here..I did get all of my spring soap finished and all of my new spring candle fragrances tested and ready for production.  I thought I would share with you the new spring soaps and bath & body stuff, as well as a few other things I'm working on.

New Spring Soaps

White Ginger

this is what it looks like from the side..pretty huh!

Energy

I love the white ginger and energy they are both so refreshing, and perfect for spring.  The White ginger ended up just how I wanted it (which as we know does not always happen).  The energy was supposed to be a swirl, but somehow I did not pour it early enough and it was too thick for a good swirl, it still turned out nice though.

Sweet Pea

Sea Glass

The Sea Glass is so pretty, the colors ended up very beachy, which was exactly what I wanted.  This fragrance moved fast so it's not really a swirl or a spoon pour, more of a mash up of both.  I started with spooning it in and had to move quick so swirled it also.  I think it turned out great.

White Lily & Amber
The white lily did not turn out as expected at all.  The fragrance on this one heated up like no other and did not hold up very well in CP.  It's still very nice and you can smell it, but not as strong as I wanted it to be.  I added a lot of Titanium Dioxide as it was supposed to be bright white with a pink top.  This fragrance dc to a light tan.  I love working with curls, and my customers love them.  The Spunky Violet is no exception! It's a beautiful fragrance and the soap turned out great!  The soap has three color layers: purple, green, and white.  I am happy with the way this one turned out!
I like the plumeria too, it's always a good selling fragrance.  It morphed a little in my soap vs my candles, but is still a nice fragrance overall.
These are my new lil' freshies..."Fragrant little fresheners for just about anywhere" aren't they super cute?  So far they are doing great at shows, everybody loves them.  I am working this week on getting more fragrances into the fresheners, and am hoping to eventually have every one of my candle fragrances available in a freshie.  They come packaged in a recyclable plastic ziplock bag to keep them fresh.  I use them in my car, and in my closets...I love them!
We are also working on Fragrant body oil.  It will come in one ounce glass bottles for now.  I am working on some fragrance blends as well as some essential oil blend.  These are not stocked yet..I am working on it though!  My other project this week is Fragrant Body and Room sprays, I don't have a pic yet, but they are my project for this week as well as stocking all the spring candles.
So there is what I have been working on.  I have a lot on the calender this week including stocking up on all of the Spring Candle Fragrances..I'll post a list of the new scents next blog post!  I am also working on a new candle collection inspired by my love of magic and enchantment! Next week it's on to some more soap projects as well as working on votive candles to add to our collection!
I hope you are all keeping busy also...I for one can not wait for the spring shows to begin!
Have a great day!

Oh What a Crafty Day

My final project from our Snow-cation.
I was not sold on the colors of this jewelry set, but ended up LOVING it once it was finished.
This particular project came in a kit from Ben Franklin crafts.  It was a gift that I received from Santa this year.  I just love it when Santa shops at my favorite craft store!!!

I got two beautiful necklaces out of the items in the kit as well as 3 pairs of earrings, one bracelet, and a mini bracelet for my daughter.  I plan on taking this look and making a few more like it in different colors.

I Love the chunky look!

I was not very happy with the quality of the pearls in the kit, although I didn't really expect to much (some of those kits are just not very high quality I'm afraid).  When I make some more I will buy a better quality pearl and some good quality chain.

I love the little bows.  I am thinking I could take this style and add my own steampunk flair to it...just need to find some fun steampunk charms!  I LOVE Steampunk.
It's been a while since I've made jewelry and I have to get back in to practice...but overall not bad.  I dug through my craft bins and was happy to find I still had some lime green glass pearls that would be awesome!

As always Have a great day!

I have a soap project up my sleeve...hoping to work on that project soon!

Snowed in Craft Day #2

Adventures from our snow week continued.  On the second day of no school week we...painted practically everything we could find!!!

I found a very inspiring pin on Pinterest about painting glass to give it a more cohesive look.  I had these ugly 80's dark green vases, you know the ones that don't match anything and sit under your sink forever.  I use vases all summer as I have a large flower garden and constantly pick bouquets for my neighbors and such.  I try to have enough vases so that if I don't get one back it's no big deal.
But these were just ugly.  So I thought I would spruce them up.

I used 2 coats of acrylic paint on each vase and they will still need a matte finish clear coat, but I LOVE how they turned out!

And of course my son had to paint with me..and then we just had to keep painting whatever we could find to paint because we were having such fun!

My son received these paintable plastic animal figures from Santa this year, and has been dying to paint them, he's a very colorful kid! We had also made some fun clay stuff a few weeks ago he wanted to paint as well.

Another Pinterest find: using hot glue to write on the jar then paint over that.  This experiment showed me that my hot glue gun is not so good, and strings to much for this project, next time I will use puffy paint to get a better look.

All in all an extremely fun day in the kitchen.
If you would like to see the Pinterest pin on these ideas you can follow me on Pinterest, they are pinned on my Craft Ideas Board.  Or here is the link to the blog from the pin.

As always have a great day, and thanks!

Snowed in Craft Day #1

Instead of just a snow day...we had a whole snow week! To help keep me and the kids stay sain..(we still ended up with a bit of cabin fever) we decided to each do a craft project of some sort every single day!
It was a ton of fun!

Glass tile pendants.  I was at my favorite craft store (Ben Franklin's) a while back and saw a ton of really pretty pendants made from a variety of materials.  I've seen these floating around the blog sphere and online...so I thought they would make a fun little project.

I bought the glass square tiles at Ben Franklin, and the paper is recycled from my pile of leftover scraps.  I have been hoarding my Bo Bunny Olivia collection paper scraps because I LOVED that paper collection so much and I refused to throw one tiny piece away..people had thoughts about my sanity...but look at that I got to use them!!!

I used mod podge to glue the paper to the tile, but next time will probably use an additional resin or glaze for further protection.

I only had two glue on bails for the pendant part..will have to get some more of those, but I Love how they turned out.  They are the smallest of the square glass tiles so I think they will be perfect in a necklace alone or with a few other things clustered together.

It was a super easy project...and really fun.  I had so much fun doing this project that I was sad when I ran out of glass tiles...but then I dug through my craft bins and found some polymer clay..ooh that could work! Stay tuned for that project!

As always thanks for following my snow week fun!
"Do something crafty every day"
Have a happy crafty day!!!

More than just a snow day...

I love the snow... there is nothing more beautiful than a blanket of white snow glistening off the trees and making the whole world sparkle.

We have been hit with a nice snow storm..and they say we are supposed to get a bunch more snow, so I will be trying out some of those fun craft projects I've been dying to do and working in the candle studio to re-stock all the soy candles!

In the meantime....here are some of our fun snow pics from the first part of the storm (we got 7")...the next part is just starting and we are expected to get over a foot more snow!  I know that's a ton of snow for Washington State!!!

Oh Happy Day!

A Year in Review...

2011 Has been a tremendously exciting year for Green Lady Creations.  After 2 years of preparation we were finally ready to launch Green Lady Creations, and share our passion for candles and soap with the world.  I thought I would share a little of 2011 in pictures!

Our 7oz Everyday Elegance Soy Candle.
We launched GLC with 25 fragrances...now we have over 35 and are working on more every day!

Our Wax melt cupcake disaster.  These little guys were so cute..but wasted so much product that they didn't go any further than the Open House Favors.

Our very first soap (well 3rd batch of our very first recipe)...Pure Castile.  To this day still my absolute favorite of all the soap.  Made from pure Olive oil.  It's heaven for the skin.

Our first "swirled" soap.  Ended up more of a marbled effect rather than a swirl..but is still very pretty.

First milk soap..Totally tropical with Coconut Milk.

First soap made with a Vanilla Heavy fragrance.  This one is called Pixie Dust; the fragrance is Pink Sugar type.  It really darkened up to a chocolate brown.  Still smells fantastic though!

Column pour soap project. So much fun to do.  This one is Cranberry Balsam

The most fun soap of the year...and the fastest selling..this beautiful soap was one of the S.O.A.P fragrances and sold out at the very first show I brought it to!

And Last but certainly not least my favorite recipe/soap.  Almond & Oatmeal.  With fine ground oatmeal and luxurious Shea Butter, this soap is 'All That' and more.  This one is my preferred bar to use (although as one of the soap testers..I usually have 2-3 different bars in my shower).
We are looking forward to 2012 and all the fun things to come.  We are of course continuing to test fragrances to add to our candle line, plus testing for a few additional candle lines.  We will be creating some new soap, and of course adding fun body treats to the bath & body line.  We look forward to sharing all this exciting new stuff with all of you! And Good luck to all of my fellow vendors/artisans in 2012!
Happy Soaping!
